Miki Tsuchiya (sometimes presented under her stage/studio name Miki BellyDanceArts) is a professional belly dancer, choreographer, and instructor originally from Japan who has been living and working in Singapore since 2003.
She started studying belly dance in 2004 and trained for about 10 years under the late Nur Shiblie (founder of Alhambra Bellydance Singapore) — someone influential in Singapore’s bellydance scene.
Miki has represented Singapore and performed internationally, including multiple trips to Egypt for the Nile Group Festival.
She’s also competed — for example, second place in the Raks Egypt Japan Dance Festival (2014) and third place in The ONE Belly Dance competition in Japan (2015).
💃 Dance & Teaching
Founder of Miki BellyDanceArts, her own belly dance studio and community in Singapore.
She offers regular group classes (e.g., at Far East Shopping Centre) as well as private lessons tailored to individual needs.
Miki also teaches workshops and beginner sessions — for example, “Discover Belly Dance: Joyful Movement” at events hosted at the Esplanade in Singapore.
🪩 Style & Philosophy
Miki is known for blending technical precision, cultural appreciation, and expressive energy — focusing not just on choreography but on helping dancers find confidence, expression, and joy in movement.
